Elli

I am cold, so cold she says,

As memories slip silently away.

Eyes stare blank

Muddled thoughts frighten her,

Bringing boatloads of people to her bedroom.

She craves peace,

But it does not come.

Childhood seems so close

But it is so distant.

A spark,

A moment of clarity,

A moment of dignity;

Was it real?

It has gone, somewhere, nowhere.

Again she sits waiting,

Staring,

Calling,

Mummy..
